Mrs. Katzman’s professional and political work in education at the local and state levels spans more than four decades. She was a teacher for 10 years, and served as Director of Curriculum and Superintendent of Educational services in the Beverly Hills Unified School District for 10 years. She held numerous education positions at the State level including Chair of the California Curriculum Commission, Member of Superintendent Jack O’Connell’s P-16 Committee (created an ambitious a plan to close the achievement gap in California), and member of the California Board of Education. She has also devoted many years of service to Vista Del Mar, a social service agency for children and families in need. Carol is currently the immediate past chair of VDM.Carol earned her BA in Education at UCLA and MA and California State Northridge in Special Education.
